Raven plays a high headed Irish harp, she is self taught and has been experimental in her musical journey. Raven has been drawn to all styles of music and has developed her very own style. Raven performs medieval story songs, songs of Celtic origins, folk and some modern music in a way that is enchantingly Raven.
Over this time she has played for all types of Festivals - to large and small appreciative audiences, written and directed shows, originally performed in a three part harmony group "Witches Britches", then began playing the harp and recorded her own CD self titled "Celtic Raven" in 2002 a live performance at a Farewell concert when she left New Zealand. Raven is now in production of "Cherish the Seasons" by Celtic Raven 2009, a journey through the seasons, accompanied on Flute, Low D whistle, Tin whistle and Bodhran by Helen Lowe and Viola and Cello by Penny Williams.
Raven plays most weekends performing at weddings, dinners, concerts and festivals. In New Zealand were she started playing she has played for both the Prime Minister and Governor General, and as support for opera diva Dame Melvina Major, her largest audience of 10,000 people.
Her music has very strong connections to her Celtic heritage and inspired to play songs about love, adventure and nature, Raven has been described as "to lament with the voice and instrument of an angel". In Brisbane she has played for the Harp Society, Mayoral Spectacular, Queensland Governor and countless Festivals and Concerts, Raven has appeared on radio and television, held harp workshops and recently appears featuring her harp on "The Shak". Also recently appearing as a bio in "the Folk Rag" November 08
Raven has already started work on her next CD which will be medieval songs called "Scathach" inspired by the times of the Scottish Warrior Queen from the Isle of Skye. Her dream is to tour and see Ireland, Scotland and England and works towards this continuing to grow as a musician.
